Who needs a professional organizer?
Who DOESN’T need a professional organizer is a better question! Seriously, though, an organizer can help a wide variety of people. I’ve helped people who have let their space go for so long that they just don’t know where to begin. I’ve helped people who just have a few areas that they can’t get under control. I’ve helped busy executives who are embarrassed about piles on their desks that won’t go away. I’ve helped companies that need an outside person to set up their filing system because they just don’t have time to do it themselves. All these people needed an organizer but not for the same reason.
What is the first step?
The first step is an assessment visit. The visit usually lasts about 30 minutes and during this time you’ll show me the space and I’ll ask questions and give you some tips to get started. At this point you’ll decide whether or not to move on with an organizing visit.
What happens during a visit?
Organizing visits usually last 2-4 hours. During the organizing process, I can organize with you or for you, depending on your budget. I can do the project almost entirely by myself, while you help with just the critical decisions. OR I can guide you in the process and give you specific instructions that you can carry out in my absence.
Will I need to buy products?
Sometimes all it takes is a well-placed product to free an entire area of clutter. In these cases I will recommend purchasing certain products. Most of the time, though, the best place to go shopping is your house.
How much does it cost?
The assessment visit is $20. If, after the assessment visit, you continue on with an organizing visit, the assessment visit fee will be deducted from your total bill. Organizing visits are billed hourly, due at the time of the visit. If given a budget up-front, I can develop a plan to fit any budget.
Are there any special rates?
I offer two discount packages. The 12-hour package is 10% off the hourly rate. The 24-hour package is 15% off the hourly rate. (15% off is over 3 ½ hours for free!) These packages are great for large projects but never expire so can be used on small projects over a long period of time. All packages are non-refundable.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require 48 hours notice for all cancelled organizing sessions. Appointments that are cancelled with less than 48 hours notice will be billed at 50% the agreed-upon rate. If the session is paid for with a package, 50% of the scheduled appointment hours will be removed from the remaining package hours. There is no penalty for cancelled assessment visits, but I would ask that you cancel as early as possible so that I can try to schedule someone else in your spot.
